In 1970 the Super Bowl Trophy was renamed as the " Vince Lombardi " trophy after the famous Green bay Packers head coach Vince Lombardi who died suddenly due to cancer . It was renamed to commemorate his consecutive victories in the first two Super bowls . The first " Vince Lombardi " trophy was presented in the 1971 Super bowl V to the Baltimore Colts when the defeated the Dallas Cowboys .
